darrenhportfolio.com is the personal portfolio of Darren Hayden, a developer based in Colorado, USA. This policy explains how I handle information when you browse the site or get in touch.
Information you share
The contact form asks for your name, email address, message, and the kind of opportunity you have in mind. Your company or organization is optional. Please leave out passwords, payment details, and other sensitive information.
When you select “Send message,” the form sends those details to my server so your message can be emailed to me. The text also stays in the current page until you leave or refresh it, so you can try again if delivery fails. The email-app fallback opens your own email app with the message filled in for you to review and send.
How I use it
I use contact details to read and reply to inquiries, discuss possible work, and keep a record of our conversation. I also use limited technical information to keep the site and contact form working and reduce spam. Sending a message does not subscribe you to a mailing list. I do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Hosting and email
Hostinger hosts this site and may process technical information such as your IP address, browser details, request times, and the pages requested in hosting and security logs.
Resend processes your contact details and message to send the email. My email provider also stores the resulting conversation. These providers may process information outside your state or country.
The contact service limits spam using request counts and a keyed hash of the requesting IP address. The counters are cleared on the first request of a new day. Form messages are not saved in a separate site database.
You can read more in Hostinger’s privacy policy and Resend’s privacy policy. I may also disclose information if required by law or reasonably necessary to address misuse or protect someone’s rights or safety.
Keeping information
I keep inquiry emails for as long as needed to respond, follow up on possible work, and meet any applicable recordkeeping obligations. Hosting, delivery logs, and backups follow the providers’ retention settings. I take reasonable steps to protect information, but no online service can guarantee complete security.
Your choices
You can choose not to use the form or leave optional fields blank. You can ask to access, correct, or delete information you have sent me. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. I will handle requests as required by applicable law and may need to verify that the information belongs to you.
